Paths & Choices

Posted Feb. 9, 2006 - Written Sept. 6, 2003

If you wanted to be rich enough to control your own destiny for the rest of your life and you had the following two paths, which would you choose?

Assuming you don't die on the way, there's a sure-fire path to wealth. It's called the school of medicine. With a lot of hard work, you could be a doctor. Your dad would be able to provide invaluable help in many aspects of your growth as a doctor.

OR you would dedicate yourself to being a musician, knowing full well that the path to wealth is murky and obscured. However, there is a talent for music which calls and repeats itself to me all day long. It's bothersome! WTF do I do?!?

If only there were as sure-fire a way for me to make cash while singing and writing and being in the realm of music as there is in the realm of guts and human machine engineering and mechanics!

Can I do both? Thank about this a lot. Probably not, but THINK! You can figure something out. You could go to medical school and only be a layman musician. Is this a waste of my innate and god-given abilities? I do not know!

Maybe I should settle down and think about it some more? Regardless, it will be a very difficult choice. Why do I have to choose one over the other?
